I've seen Marty twice before, opening for Travis Tritt. no surprise that NJ can't fully appreciate the "Superlative" talent, thinking it's "simply hillbilly music". The NJ crowd enjoyed him, but I could tell they were used to louder crowds. He also had a pedalboard, but I only saw him use it twice- once for tremolo and once for delay. Kenney was playing a silverface Princeton, I saw him mess with the tone control several times. I never saw him touch the vol or tone controls on the guitar. Marty had a silverface Deluxe and a Radial PB-1, like always. Neither Marty or Kenny ever came off the bridge pickup. He does make PRODIGIOUS use of the B-bender in Clarence, I'd say to the point of obsession LOL. Probably because he learned to play mandolin first. Marty flatpicks alot more than I would have thought, and chicken picks ALOT LESS than I would have thought. ![]() ![]() I was in the 2nd row, so I got a good look at Marty's and Kenny's hands. One of my favorite telecaster pickers, and actually one of my favorites period.
